Megan Lighty

Megan is a community-centered designer who works at the intersection of research, strategy, education, and community engagement. Intrigued by the complex systems within our communities, she believes design offers powerful opportunities to learn from each other and discover beautiful relationships that can strengthen our society at-large.

Megan was previously awarded the Taconic Fellowship through the Pratt Center for Community Development where she explored an intersection between social and environmental justice while designing with a community-based organization.

Prior to joining The Social Impact Studio, Megan worked with Publicolor, a non-profit youth development program, to educate and collaborate with NYC middle and high school students. She holds a bachelor's in Industrial Design with a minor in Sustainability from Pratt Institute.
