Frequently Asked Questions

  • We typically work with public health and human services agencies. This can include small, medium, and large non-profit organizations and local and state government agencies. We also work with individuals and groups who are gearing up to start their non-profit organizations.

We define “public health and human services” broadly–as it can include organizations providing direct services to communities on health-related topics, but also include organizations doing community development, literacy, education, and other services that have a positive impact on their community.

  • Yes! We work exclusively with individuals and organizations based in the United States; but have worked with local, state, and national organizations–including organizations based in Alaska, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois,  Montana, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Washington State, and so much more!

  • We offer a variety of services to fit each organization’s unique needs. A detailed overview of our services can be found on our Services page.

  • We start by listening! It’s important for us to understand what you are currently doing, the challenges you are experiencing, as well as what you are dreaming of, in order to begin to build the right service package for your organization.

Once we have a better understanding of your needs, we will develop a proposal based on that fit–and if it is something that is not quite in our wheelhouse, we will either refer you to our trusted friends and colleagues OR partner with other consultants to make it happen!

  • Yes, we do! Our clients include ultra-small community-based nonprofit organizations and large, multi-state or national organizations. We love partnering with organizations of all sizes and have services that can fit any budget and need.

We also work with individuals and groups that have not yet formed a formal nonprofit, as well, guiding them in their community programming.

  • Pricing can vary depending on your organization’s needs and budget. We work hard to understand your challenges and opportunities, the support that you need, and how we can provide that to you in a cost efficient and effective way.

Strategy calls and membership in the Social Impact Shift (coming early 2026-stay tuned!) are our most budget friendly options. Depending on the investment and types of activities, strategic, policy, and advocacy planning services may range widely. Finally, our data analysis and dashboard development services are bespoke, based on the individual organization needs.

  • Yes! Many of our projects last about 6-8 months, but we have a few projects that have lasted 1-3 years and some as short as 2-3 months.

  • We are a fully remote team, primarily based on the east coast of the United States. However, depending on the project, we can offer time-limited on-site support to complete its objectives and goals.

  • Great question! You  are ready when you know you don’t have the bandwidth to do the work–or recognize that while you know what you want to do, you aren’t quite sure how to get there. That’s what we can do for you! We can extend your bandwidth–supporting your planning efforts, programs, and services to help fill gaps as you expand or provide the strategic direction that you need to get to where you are going.

  • The best way to schedule a 30-minute, free introductory call is to click on either of the Calendly links below to schedule directly or email us at info@socialimpact.studio

  • The typical engagement process starts with a 30-minute introductory call, where we get to know each other a bit more–including an opportunity for you to understand our organization–as well as for us to learn a little more about your organization and its needs.

Depending on our discussions in that meeting, and next steps, the process may go one of two ways:

    1. We are able to create a draft proposal for the work based on the discussion. At the end of the 30-minute call, we’ll schedule a follow-up 45-minute call, in 1-2 weeks, where we will discuss the draft proposal with you, make adjustments to timeline and budget, and agree upon whether to move forward.

    2. We may need additional time, and strategic discussions, to plan out the path forward. If so, we may work with you to schedule an additional proposal development meeting, or a paid strategy call (for shorter term needs) to support your next steps.

    3. Once the proposal is accepted, or after a strategy call, you desire to work with us further, we will sign a contract with you and begin our work together!

  • This depends on the size and scope of the project, as well as our existing capacity. Generally, we can get started working with our partners within 1-3 months.

  • When you schedule the 30-minute introductory call, we will ask you just to tell us a little bit about yourself. Please use this space to share a bit more about yourself, your organization, and your anticipated needs.

During the 30-minute introductory call, we will ask you a few questions that will help us get to know you, your work, and your needs. This includes your goals for your organization, your sticking points to get there, where you see yourself needing help, and what type of relationship and partnership you are seeking to support this work.

  • Yes, we offer payment plans and can work with you and your organization to develop the best plan that works for you. Regarding billing options, we prefer ACH/direct deposit or checks, but also accept payments via all major credit cards as well.
